I don’t know where this white snow horse sculpture was built, but it is beautiful:
A friend sent me the photo by email, and didn’t know where it originated either, but it sure is pretty. I don’t know if I can ever build another snowman after seeing something like this.
I don’t know about you, but on a cold Colorado winter morning, I make fresh-basked chocolate chip cookies:

A quick note here today that if you’re interested in Drupal, and happen to live in Colorado, I posted some Boulder, Colorado Drupal news and information yesterday over on the Valley Programming website.
Besides the Drupal users groups in the area, which are very cool, I’m also really happy to see that there is going to be a Drupalcon event in Denver, Colorado in March, 2012. As a new Colorado resident, that timing couldn’t be any better.
We’re starting this morning with a very thick white fog, so if my cattle-neighbors come to the fence again, the background of their daily photo will be completely white. Here’s an earlier photo of them in a nice Christmas tree pose:
As I write these words at 4:30pm on Sunday, December 4, 2011, I’m watching another whiteout snowstorm coming at me from over the Rocky Mountains, but while on a walk a few hours ago, I found these cattle waiting to greet me:
I think this may end up being the photo I use for my Christmas cards this year.

I just took this second one on the morning of December 4, 2011. I haven’t checked the weather yet, but it looks like we might have a clearer day after 2+ of snowstorms:
The locals keep telling me that it usually snows one day and melts the next day, because it’s usually very sunny here … time will tell.
When I first moved to the Colorado area (way back in October, 2011), I picked up a local Boulder newspaper, and found this ad for a showing of The Big Lebowski at the Boulder Theater:
You have to love the “$1 off of White Russians with robe or costume” line. Actually, you have to love a movie theater that serves White Russians.

If you know me, you know I start hanging the Christmas lights indoors as soon as it starts getting dark outside early. Of course in Alaska that was really early, and here in Colorado, I started hanging the Christmas lights in my apartment in mid-November:
Of course, if you also know me, you also know I start baking fresh cookies around the same time. (Cookies not shown … but they sure do smell good.)
When I first moved to the Boulder, Colorado area in October, the first several news stories I heard were about mountain lions in the Boulder area. This photo of an indoor cat and outdoor mountain lion shows the problem pretty well:
Or, as I wrote on my Facebook account, “Little kitty looks in the ‘mirror’ and thinks, wow, I’m looking pretty fierce today.”
In 2012 I plan to restart my computer programming company, Valley Programming, here in the Boulder, Colorado area, but until then I’ve been working on some personal programming projects, and also taking a little time off for things like, well, bowling:
That 233 score is one of my highest scores ever, but beginning that game with six consecutive strikes is something I’ve never done before, so I’m pretty happy today.
